ENVIROMENT & CLIMATE
Golf isn´t just another sport - it´s a way of life, shot by shot and hole by hole the golfer plays to not only improve his game but also to enjoy Nature´s wonderful surroundings.
There are many golf courses but not all are able to offer both excellent playing conditions together with such spectacular scenery – there are many golf courses, but none like La Envia Golf.
Situated along the slopes of the Sierra de Gador mountain range on the edge of the Costa del Sol, with impressive views over the Bay of Almeria, the golf course and areas of outstanding natural beauty, La Envia Golf Resort also boasts a 5* hotel and a state of the art health spa offering the golfer a complete package of golf, luxury and relaxation.
La Envia´s private residential is perfectly situated at just 25 minutes by car from Almeria International Airport, 15 minutes from the city centre and within easy reach of the beach resorts of Roquetas de Mar and Aguadulce as well as 2 natural parks.
With an average of 320 days of sunshine per year, the Costa Almeria has arguably the best climate in Spain. Being an actual desert, there isn't much rainfall and the winters are like a good summer´s day in the UK and Northern Europe. It's an ideal all year round location.
During the summer, it rarely stays below 30°C (86°F). In winter, temperatures stay at around 20°C (64°F). It's very mild. At night time though, because of the normally cloudless skies, it can drop down to about 10°C.
La Envía Golf
La Envia Golf & Country Club runs the length of a valley with the surrounding mountains shielding the course from any wind – creating superb golfing conditions.
Palm trees, Mimosa trees and many indigenous plants, flowers and shrubs run the length of the fairways and beyond, giving the impression of a vibrant oasis in the heart of a spectacular desert.
The 18 hole par 71 course stretches over more than 5,700 metres of undulating terrain, with numerous bunkers, water features and carefully positioned greens to present the golfer with an interesting test of their skill and ability
Furthermore, La Envia Golf is noted for the care of its interesting and challenging greens, many of which are raised, designed to bring a mixture of fun and difficulty to your round.
The front nine can be described as relatively flat, longish holes, especially the 2nd and the 5th which will help prepare you for the back nine – though they are shorter in distance they require a more thoughtful approach to each hole.
Holes 12, 13 and 14 – known as La Envia´s “Amen Corner” – do allow for the possibility of a birdie or two, though they can just as easily ruin your card!

Settlements date back to Prehistoric times though the City of Almeria was founded by the Phonecians, later came the Romans, before Almeria reached the peak of it´s splendour with the arrival of the Arabs, who named the city Al – Miriya (The Mirror).
During this time Almeria was the 3rd richest city in Europe.
World famous postcard beaches such as Mónsul and Genoveses (found in the Cabo de Gata National Park) form part of the cultural region of Alpujarreña de la Sierra de Granada, with whitewashed villages and impressive valleys scattered across this extraordinary landscape.
Almeria is the principal producer of the fundamental foods which make up the “Mediterranean Diet”, not by chance is the region known as the “Market Garden of Europe”, the quality of Almeria´s land grown produce together with the abundance of seafood to be found off it´s shores help make for one of the healthiest diets in the world.
